Abstract


The ";Estienne-Nicot Corpus"; comprises five related families of Latin-French or French-Latin dictionaries, the main authors of which were Robert Estienne and Jean Nicot: a) Latinæ linguæ Thesaurus 1531-1536; b) Dictionarium latinogallicum 1538-1546-1552-1570; c) Dictionaire françois-latin 1539-1549-1564-1573; d) Thresor de la langue françoyse 1606; e) Grand Dictionaire françois-latin, six editions between 1593 and 1628. Of these the ";Estienne-Nicot Database"; comprises in electronic form: a) Thesaurus 1531 (Latin headwords and French text); b) Dictionarium 1552 (bilingual items); c) Thresor (in entirety); d) the six editions of the Grand Dictionaire (additions only).


The paper discusses the structures of the different dictionaries and the reasons for their not being marked in the database.
